Rotary News at Macquarie Park

 Hi everyone,

It's Sunday night Newsletter time! and it's the usual date with the Computer and this time I'm eating my dessert with IMAC !! luckily the computer doesn't get hungry!. Speaking on food etc I have been involved with a fantastic Health & Wellness Seminar which is the brainchild of our member Millie Booth. 

This fantastic initiative was organised by a group of volunteers including new member Trina Mosley, as well as Millie and myself. There has been one week of seminars being held in the U@MQ bldg at Macquarie Uni, where Doctors from Sanoviv Medical Institute gave great lectures on Health & Wellness. The Expo was held today and it was an absolute success, with great awareness of preventative medicine, Nutrition . Trina was able to get Expo sponsors for today and did a fabulous job here. All money raised will go towards the Frank Dominello Memorial Fund, where the vision is to have a similar Health & wellness Medical Institute here in Australia. I tell you this is a worth while project and if anyone would like to make a donation to this great cause look at the website www.frankdominello.org.au. Our Club has endorsed this project, and I feel this is a fabulous project to be involved in.

Macquarie Park Rotary gals with Myself, Millie Booth & Trina Mosley

This Friday we have 19 members including partners, attending the Carols Thank you evening at Rob Wilkinsons Place. This will also include North Ryde members as well as other helpers & sponsors who contributed to a fabulous Carols night on the 20th December last month. This should be a great night, where both Clubs will be hosting this evening.

We also have our new member BBQ get together which has been directed by member Shayne Dumbrell. This will be  held on Sunday 28th February, it would be lovely for all to attend. Held at Commandment Rock Lane Cove Park

The conference is coming up in March and I have currently been practising in the Rotary choir on Saturdays for the opening of the Conference, thanks to David Rands who dobbed me in to join this choir, he actually is the official accompanist of this great Rotary choir. Speaking about David Rands who is the District Governor Nominee, he will be visiting our Club this Tuesday morning. He heard through the Grapevine, how much fun we have at Macquarie Park Rotary, that he had to experience it for himself. We look forward to seeing him.

Lastly, Chatswood International will be chartering their new Club on Tuesday 23rd February and our Club have provided a gift for their night. Len & myself will be attending and if anyone else would like to attend, please feel free to contact me.

I think that is it for this week, I have just finished my last spoon of dessert and will go on the treadmill! (not)
